Help us in the fight against human trafficking! We can't do it alone! Our valiant efforts depend on your partnership - be a part of what we are doing to bring hope and transformation to human beings who were enslaved and exploited. Daughters has never owned our own building, but we wish to do so, in order to establish a permanent home and a base for our operations, including our outreach activities, and our employment enterprises. The building that we would like to own would be at the heart of the tourist area that would increase the traffic for our visitor centre. It would allow us to open a cafe for more opportunities to train the girls in and a prayer house to pray over the spiritually dark places in the city. The amount we need to raise is $2 million USD for the building as well as renovations. Join us in our campaign as we trust for this building! Click on the donorbox to Build our Future with us. Fundraisers Exciting update, We are starting Daughters of The Philippines with a small team going to The Philippines to bless and minister to the locals. Please pray with us for the expansion of this dream!

  • What We Do | DOC Current

What We Do WHAT WE DO Daughters of Cambodia empowers individuals trapped in the sex industry to break free and build new lives filled with dignity, healing, and the means to thrive. In Phnom Penh’s red-light districts, our team conducts regular outreaches, going into sex-selling establishments and offering a route out of sex work. We invite young girls (plus transgender sex workers) caught in sex-exploitation and sex-trafficking into a new life of freedom and healing. Through employment in our ethical social enterprises and comprehensive recovery programs we provide a foundation for sustainable change. Unlike institutional shelters, we empower them to reintegrate into their communities and maintain strong connections with their families. And we support their families to experience change and reduce dysfunction, through our social work services. Employment Recovery Education Since our inception in 2007, we’ve helped 900 sex workers (mostly female plus a few trans) leave the sex industry and start new lives! They are precious to us, we know each one by name, and we are very thankful to have been a catalyst for change in their lives. The number who have returned to the sex industry is small (18%, 2024), and they are welcomed back when they are ready to return. Our Visitor Centre in Phnom Penh invites the community to support our mission by exploring our retail and service spaces, which showcase products made by those we empower. Visitors can also participate in guided tours to see our clients at work and to learn about our impact. As a faith-based organization, we follow Jesus Christ, and aim to convey his love and spread his message of hope and Life. We operate an on-site church and discipleship programs, and engage in intercession on a daily basis.

  • Our Story | DOC Current

Learn More Our Story What We Do Learn More Why We Do It Learn More Our Story OUR STORY Daughters of Cambodia was founded in 2007 by British psychologist Ruth Elliott, who sought to create effective, modern solutions to sex-trafficking and sex-exploitation that move beyond the traditional institutional model. Her vision was to offer those trapped in sex-work the opportunity to walk free and to equip them with tools and skills that will transform their lives, sustainably. The first step in walking free is to provide employment and skills training, which we do in our ethical businesses, enabling precious human beings to leave sex work immediately. We train them, not only in workplace skills, but also in skills for living, to raise their capacity for decision-making, reduce risk, and bring about changes in mind-set. We provide recovery programs, through our social work and medical departments, to target psychological distress, healing of trauma, family dysfunction and health needs. We are especially rewarded by the outcome of those who are promoted to staff positions, from starting out as program beneficiaries. Having transformed their lives, developed new skills, and grown in character and leadership, they become amazing leaders and mentors to the newer girls. We have amazing and dedicated teams, working in areas of outreach, social work, healthcare, training, business, discipleship & spiritual growth, administration, childcare, finance, government compliance, HR, and PR/communications, to ensure standards of excellence in every area. As followers of Jesus Christ, it is our joy to offer those in our programs the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, and to be discipled, so that they experience freedom, healing and life transformation that Jesus brings. We operate an on-site church and discipleship programs. Attendance is voluntary.
